FDA approved hotmelt adhesives with good bonding to aluminum

The business unit EMS-GRILTECH of EMS-CHEMIE AG offers for some years high flexible hotmelt adhesives based on polyester. These types with melting range from 110 - 150 °C show besides good adhesion to textiles with very soft hand, excellent bonding properties to metals like aluminum. Recently a new type was introduced designated as Griltex D 2307E, which has outstanding adhesion to aluminum and at the same time is approved for direct food contact. Applications are e.g. food packaging, where aluminium foils are bonded to other substrates. D 2307E has a melting range from 115 - 120 °C and a melt viscosity of approx. 400 Pa*s at 160 °C/2.16 kg (MVR 26 ml/10').
