Using a unique technology, ADVANSA, a leading European fiber producer based in Germany, has developed a new microfiber for the nonwovens industry.

With a diameter of only 8 μm (0.6 dtex), the fibers are particularly soft. A special surface treatment provides hydrophilicity, so that an immediate moisture transport can be ensured. The fibers are crimped and suitable for dry laid processes. The stability of the nonwoven can be achieved through needle punching, hydroentanglement or heat setting. This new fiber type is suitable especially for hygiene products, medical textiles and filtration. They can also be used in contact with food.
