German textile and clothing industry - hope of recovery

The economic trend for the manufacturing industry as a whole continues to decline in the current month of June, reflecting the current economic concerns in Germany. On the current periphery, textile and clothing companies in particular are fortunately able to escape this downward trend. After a similar finding last month, this contrary trend can be seen as a positive signal for further development despite the generally gloomy mood.

From January to February 2018, sales by manufacturers of nonwovens and nonwovens products (excluding clothing) fell by 3.8 percent to 542 million euros. Manufacturers of technical textiles, on the other hand, recorded a plus of 1.5 percent to 882 million euros.
