Hartmann Group with sales growth in 2018

Despite a challenging environment, the Hartmann Group, one of the leading international suppliers of medical and care products, achieved an increase in sales of 2.9% to EUR 2.12 billion and an EBIT of EUR 123.2 million in the 2018 financial year. Group sales increased both in Germany (+1.6%, organic +1.9%) and in the European foreign markets (+4.9%, organic +3.3%). In Germany, the Wound Management and Infection Management segments in particular performed well, while the Wound and Incontinence Management segments in other European countries showed a strong performance. The regions outside Europe recorded a decline in sales (- 2.8 %, organic + 1.3 %) due to exchange rate effects.

Outlook: Moderate increase in sales
The outlook for the global healthcare industry remains positive in view of demographic change and an ageing society. Rising health care spending in developing countries, growing care demands, increasing chronic diseases, advances in medical treatment and new health technologies are increasing the demand for cost-effective and customer-oriented healthcare solutions.

For the 2019 financial year, the Company continues to expect moderate growth in Group sales and EBIT of between EUR 102 million and EUR 112 million.
