At Techtextil, Erhardt+Leimer, specialist for automation technology will present systems for web guiding and spreading, web tension measurement and control, as well as cutting units for applications in the textile industry.

The exhibits will also include measuring systems, for example, a system that can be used as a standalone system for monitoring and measuring the width of a fabric web while the process is running. For this purpose a wide band sensor of type FE 45 / FE 46 acquires the web edges by scanning using infrared LEDs. The sensor is available for a measuring range of up to 3400 mm, the accuracy of the width measurement is down to +/- 2 mm, depending on the characteristics of the web edge. E+L offers the related command station DO 48 in three different variants with various output options. Along with a digital alarm output for providing an acoustic or visual alarm, an analog output can also be used to operate a large display, and an Ethernet connection to a PC or customer PLC is also possible. The edge positions determined are output as the web width on the DO 48 touchscreen. It is also possible to enter the set width and the alarm limits on the touchscreen. In conjunction with a segmented roller guider of type Elsmart SWS or SWA, the wide band sensor can also be used for edge or center guiding.
